How To Monitor Remote Windows Machine Using Nagios on Linux

A few months back I had implemented Nagios system, network and application monitoring at work but hadn’t yet implemented detailed monitoring on our Windows machines. All I had in the configuration for Windows hosts was a PING service to tell me if they were up or down so that I can at least get alerts. Well, now that I’ve the time, I found this article that takes you through step-by-step to get it working. It’s actually pretty detailed and straight to the point. I had 10 Windows hosts set-up for detailed monitoring in less than 15 minutes. I’m happy with Nagios and it performs quite well monitoring our 30 servers and 8 network switches.
